Artist's Comments

EDIT: Anyone can post this image on their dA page/website/wherever. I would appreciate you link the image back to me but its not the end of the world if you don't.

.........

I swore I would never put one of these in my journal, much less ever make one but the draw of the stamps is too great... I could not resist... Besides I could not find any Pagan ones on dA. I am not ashamed or proud to be Pagan, it is just what I am and I am secure in my beliefs (though not close minded about them or any others, everything is subject to change.)

Now for the orgins of the word Pagan...

The word originally came from Latin. 'Pagus' means a canton or district, or in other words a parcel of land, usually out in the country. A 'paganus' was one who lived on this parcel of land, usually working it as a farm or performing other rural tasks. 'Paganus' came to mean country folk. As Christianity came to various parts of Europe, the people in the towns and cities were converted, but those in the country were not. So country folk were non-Christian. The word 'pagan', which originally meant country person, came to mean non-believer and worse. Today 'pagan' refers to anyone who practices one of the nature based religions.

Critiques are discourage because I am horrid at digital art and I feel this piece has hardly any artistic value. It just a bit of community fun.

No critiques to make anyway. It's simply stated and I like the color scheme. :D Ah, and I like the little bit of background included and :pointandlaugh: you succumbed to the STAMPS!!! ;)
